Toast Gastrobrunch will be popping up in North County at the end of January. Opening in the shuttered Pisco Rotisserie & Cevicheria, the new brunch-themed concept will be run by Hungarian-born executive chef/partner Alfred “Alfie” Szeprethy. Diners can expect dishes ranging from smoked brisket hash to the signature Eggs in Purgatory, a sourdough bread bowl with poached eggs in a spicy shashuska sauce, mushrooms, bacon, feta, scallions and mint, along with a variety of “toasts” and breakfast salads. The menu also offers breakfast cocktails like the Boozey Start, a combination of coffee, brandy, Grand Marnier and Kahlua topped with whipped cream and an orange peel. There’s also a selection of Bloody Marys, sangrias, micheladas, bubbly and original cocktails like the Lavender Lady, made with lime juice, Champagne and lavender bitters.
